Steph's Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Chung

The day started out early at 4am with hair and make up. Everyone gathered at my uncle's house in preparation for the Chinese tea ceremony and the door games.

Before the groom is allowed to come into the house, close friends and family of the bride play door games where the groom and his groomsmen have to pay to get through the door. Generally the tradition is because the girls do not want their friend to be given away easily so the harder the games, the better. Here, my dad and uncle look on as I conduct one of the games. The boys were extremely good sports.

Reception began and ended with tons of dancing. The dance floor was always packed.

Seriously hilarious photo. This girl on my cousin's other side was really gunning for the bouquet.

Another big family photo sans bride and groom. Our family had so much fun. We sang, danced, drank lots and took tons of photos. We are freaking awesome.

Finally caught a photo with the bride.

What a fabulous wedding. Seriously one of the best I have ever been to.

Jen and Oli's wedding

Warning: Picture heavy post

Over the weekend I went back home to Toronto for the wedding of one of my very good friends, Jen. It was a fabulous evening with my gfs celebrating one of the best couples I know. Here are some photos from the evening.

Lol, Jen's face. I love love love how the couple didn't care about maintaining etiquette and totally got drunk with the rest of us.

Jen, one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen...inside and out. Congratulations to Oli for snagging her up :)

And my absolute favourite part of the wedding: when Jen walked down the aisle to Oli serenading her with his guitar. Love.

Hope you had a great weekend too! (even though its almost the next weekend, haha)

Perhaps having a little too much fun?

Didn't get a chance to photograph one of my most favourite dresses in my closet but I guarantee I will be wearing this again soon so will make sure to get some equally fab photos.

Photos taken at a lovely wedding in the south of france for my friend, Janet (which you may or may not have seen several photos on this blog before). Wish I had taken more pics to showcase it!

Lovely Sunday everyone.

Despite Mass' extreme bias towards Italian vino, we went wine tasting in the south of France last weekend. Though, after we heard stories from the biking we totally wish we did that instead! Miss the warm weather terribly.

Usual hot weather / beach getup - my sis' AA romper, an Urban Outfitters hat, and my super cool Raybans.

Couple weekends back I attended my gf's wedding. All of us girls decided to go stag and it couldn't have been more fun. The wedding was adorned with personal references to the couple which I loved. Tu Anh and her husband are both dentists, so they had a table full of sweets and next to it toothbrushes, toothpaste and their business cards. I love the detailing and thought that go into weddings. People can be unbelievably creative!

The last photo was the morning after...feet still sore, but all worth the pain. Congratulations Tu Anh and Tim :)

Aside: I took all the single photos with our new lens - 1.4 50mm. It is amazing for portraits and so cheap too! I highly recommend it if you take a lot of still portrait photos.

Wedding in Copenhagen was stunning. And, unlike most weddings, it was fun! The bride and groom even went swimming in the sea at 5am with their guests.

Danish weddings, as I've learned, involve a lot of speeches (an open mic really) and a long lasting party to follow.

Heading to HK for a week tonight. Not sure what sorta blogging schedule I'll be on but hopefully the posts won't be jet lagged as well. Can't wait to see all my family and friends there!

The bride and groom held a sweet little brunch for the remaining guests at their quaint French village resort where their wedding was held. A nice breath of fresh air from the city (both London and Paris). Couldn't resist capturing a few pics before we went back.

Dress was bought last summer with my mom and sister on our shopping trip in NY. The victorian neckline speaks for itself and the skirt volume was just an added bonus. Black in the middle of summer has never been so appealing.

Speaking of appealing, I'll be back in my hometown Toronto tmr for a few days. Can't wait to show you pics of where I call home. Have a fabulous weekend.

LISA: ANDY THE-ANH dress, CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN lady gres shoes, LOUIS VUITTON african queen purse, VINTAGE bracelet, CARTIER watch

MASS: CUSTOM MADE IN SHANGHAI suit, ETRO tie and pocket square, CAMPANILE shoes

Over the weekend we made a trip to Paris, subsequently followed by a trip to a small town close to Champagne for a wedding. I bought this dress last summer but haven't had a chance to wear it until now. The designer is a well-liked Canadian designer Andy The-Anh based in Montreal. Designs are typically very classic but with a slight edge. One day I will post another dress by him which I think is his signature, gives you curves like you wouldn't believe.

Mass and I rarely, if at all, match for a wedding/any other event that requires us to be semi-formalish. In fact, I think the contrast of his purple based etro tie and my bland yellow go very nicely together. What do you think?
