HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY SIS

Apologies for being MIA - the Chinese have not figured out that FB/BLOGSPOT/GOOGLE or any other social device is worth keeping and since I was one of the 100 000 affected by the ash, I only returned back to London on Sunday.

On Sunday was my baby sister's birthday - she's now a big 20! We didn't always like each other, in fact we probably spent most of my teenage years hating each other. Then when we both started growing up, when I was doing my undergrad, we decided to become friends. Not to say that we don't fight every now and again, but our fights are a bit more grown up (versus fighting over closets before) and distance has probably helped decrease them to only significant arguments.

Needless to say, she's my little sister and I love her so so so much. Despite distance and differences, she's still my best friend (probably the only person who's able to put up with all my demands, therefore a great maid-of-honour one day!).

So here's to my sister - have a fabulous 20th year. Cheers to success, health and happiness. I love you.

MADE IN ITALY PART III

There are more? Yes there are. These pics are mainly from Fabriano (Mass' home town), in his parents house - love it!, him and his brother when they were kids - his moms so pretty!, in his favourite resto (Sbordovino), and in his centre square - where everyone just walks up and down up and down all afternoon long....

Grandissimo!

We're off to Shanghai, China tomorrow for a little less than a week to attend a wedding. It's rainy season I hear, booo :( Looks like the trench is going to see a few more places in the world!

Ciao ciao!

MADE IN ITALY PART II

While in Italy we stayed in Fabriano for a few days, then went to Perugia for a day, then to Chianti Tuscany for another two days. When we got back to London, I soon realised that too much salami, wine, ham, cheese, and heavy Italian food altogether makes Lisa break out :( I guess next time it'll be in moderation.

Ciao baci

PS. the wifi here at the lib sucks therefore additional pics will be posted when i'm at home.

MADE IN ITALY PART I

Buona Pasqua (en retard)! I am stuffed with enough food to feed me until next Easter. Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

As much as I bitch about not understanding Italian (they speak 0 english in the small towns), I love going back to Mass' family's home because they're so warm and welcoming, despite the language barrier. (perhaps if I knew what they were saying I might not feel the same. Kidding!) Anyway, unfortunately I haven't had the time to sift through the hundred photos I took (that's a lot for me!) but there will be more to come. For now, here are some of the goodies I picked up in Italy.

Mass brought me to the Cesare Paciotti factory about an hour away and I picked up these two beauties. The brogues were love at first sight. You can't tell but there is a royal blue on the inside and in the sun, the shoes change colour. My favourite pair of brogues by miles, even though the red soles are scuffed :(

Love animal jewelry! Picked up this frog ring from a small town Greve, in Chianti, Tuscany, in their antique market. I loved so many of their rings, but most of them were too big (including this one). We bought it anyway, and now I found a new use for my Tiffany mesh ring: a blockade! ;)

Ciao, from Fabriano to Tuscany to London
