EVERYDAY

DSC_1457

So I didn't go out in this yesterday but lately my uniform has been some variation of this. Every year when winter rolls around, no matter the trends, I always resort to the same look: jeans, a big sweater / v-neck sweaters / crew neck sweaters. Sounds boring I know but I think the best dressed people out there are the ones who don't try so hard. I think it is tough not to get sucked into the seasonal trends, especially when there are so many Zara and H&Ms out there, but guaranteed everyone looks their absolute best in what they feel most comfortable in.

I get quite a few people asking me where I get my 'style sense' from and to be quite honest, I have no idea. When I buy clothing, I don't buy with an outfit in mind. I buy the item. When I get home, all it is is trying to pair the best items together, literally making do with what you have. I don't like to spend buttloads of money on daily wear (except for timeless items) but I do like to spend on the items that last beyond the season.

My favourite high street stores for minimalism and quality are:
COS - www.cosstores.com/
Club Monaco - www.clubmonaco.com/
Weekday (if you live in a Nordic country / Germany) - www.weekday.se/
Aqua (online shopping) - www.aquabyaqua.com/

Burberry Prorsum shearling coat, Acne jeans and belt, COS sweater, Jimmy Choo boots (got at a greeeeat sample sale)

Happy sale shopping everyone!

NUDE

DSC_1387

Lately I have been obsessed with finding the perfect shade of nude. I always have nail varnish on so I can never test it out in stores, forcing me to purchase the colour and attempt it at home. If I'm not decently satisfied, I can't do much but keep it so I've gained quite a collection. The above varnishes are my favourites. I really love the OPI one for a bit of a whiter finish but Butter's Nail Foundation is fabbbbbbulous for the perfect matte look. It's 17.5ml which is significantly greater but that explains the more expensive price tag of £17. That and you can't seem to find a good variety of Butter shades in London!

Butter Nail Foundation , Butter 'Tea with the Queen', Chanel '485 Django', Risque 'Renda' - a very economical brand from Brasil which comes highly recommended, especially for your toes!, OPI 'So Many Clowns...So Little Time'

Finally finished the mocks now, so off to celebrate with a glass or two. Happy four days until Christmas!

Holidays

DSC_1403
DSC_1413

Been hit with the festivities and time has become so precious (that and the fact that there is so much to study for before and during the holidays). The time of year where it is impossible to find a reservation at decent restaurant, everyone wants to see each other before the new year, and Christmas parties take up every bar in town from 1pm onwards. My Christmas continues onto Toronto on Friday where I'll be until just after the new year. Lots of things to document this holiday season, so exciting!

These photos were taken waaay back during the American Thanksgiving weekend. Dinner was held, as it is every year, at a Canadian friends place because no one can seem to get their act together for the Canadian one.

My motto this season: effortless effort.

Mike Milbury charged with assaulting boy at son’s game

As a Boston Bruins defenceman, he famously pulled off a spectator’s shoe and slapped him with it.Now a hockey dad and fiery Hockey Night in Canada commentator, Mike Milbury is accused of grabbing, shaking and threatening a 12-year-old player after a peewee game in the Massachusetts town of Brookline last week.Milbury, 59, a former NHL player, coach and executive, faces charges of assault and battery on a child, threats to commit a crime and disorderly conduct, Brookline police said Friday.“Mike Milbury denies any allegations that there was an assault of any kind,” lawyer Daniel Rabinovitz said in a statement.
“He simply intervened in an altercation between his son and an opposing player.“No one was struck, no one was injured, and no one was threatened.”CBC Sports and NBC Sports have both announced that Milbury will not appear on their networks while he addresses the allegations.“CBC Sports spoke with Mike late this afternoon,” said spokesman Chuck Thompson.“After a good discussion we both decided that he won’t be part of Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts while he focuses on his personal situation,” Thompson said. The incident took place on Dec. 9 at the Jack Kirrane Ice Skating Rink, where the Boch Blazers faced off against the Boston Jr. Blackhawks in an outdoor exhibition match known as the Winter Classic.

Photos were taken in Italy when Mass and I went back to tell his family the good news about our engagement. I bought this coat in NY at..Aritzia! Funny because I have spent years trying not to buy Aritzia clothing because they are on each and every small Asian girl in Canada but when I saw this Wilfred coat, my love affair started. It's so male domineering yet slimming enough to make someone as short as me, look tall.

Talking about this coat makes me feel much happier since I completely bombed my interview and advising exam! Praying to the competency Gods.

new favourites

I bought these online at Saks (because they are much cheaper in the US than in the UK) and had them shipped to my gf's parents place where she brought them back to London for me. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep them because they are pretty skinny at the top making my large legs (I attribute my big legs to ballet...16 years of ballet will do that to you) look larger.

Should've never doubted my Alexander Wang...he knows how to make a good boot, great.

Wore them out last night to a 30th birthday and some drinks at the Electric. They felt good all the way home. So good that I think I'm going to wear them again now to brunch.

Have a good Sunday!

Tartufo loves Tartufo!
DSC_1602

The morning after! This blog has slowly turned from a 'fashion' blog to a 'whatever is going on in Lisa's life' blog. I promise not to turn it into a wedding blog!

Tartufo came along with us to Jurassic coast where we ate the most amazing UK lobster ever. I got to finally sport my new piece of jewelry in the hotel restaurant as well, where everyone clearly knew exactly what had happened last night. Thank goodness for Mass I said Yes :P

I think this birthday weekend will go down as the best one yet. Hopefully we can have our wedding on Mass' birthday to balance it out :)

Stylish Rebellion

Hallo! Robię to z ogromną przyjemnością i to główny cel dla jakiego go prowadzę.
Stylizowanie to moja wariacja i sposób wyrażania siebie.
Raz jestem zbuntowany i ubieram wąskie spodnie z rozciągniętą koszulką, innym razem grzeczny w koszuli i prostych spodniach :)
Zdjęcia pochodzą z planu filmowego( a raczej backstagu), w którym miałem zaszczyt zagrać jedną z ról. O tym w niedalekiej przyszłości jeszcze napiszę :)

stylizacja:

Moto Jacket: Reserved
Tank: H&M Lmtd.
Skinny Jeans: H&M
Lace up Shoes- Vagabond
Foxy Hanging: zajaczkowski.design
Belt: Replay

Birthday Weekend Part I

DSC_1505
DSC_1515

If we're friends on Facebook you will have known by now that Mass and I are engaged :) I waited almost two weeks to publicly announce the news so I could let it absorb a little.

Although it still sounds funny (but oh so good) to call him my fiancé, I am definitely getting used to the new change in my life.

The proposal happened at some point during my birthday weekend away in Dorset. The above photos were taken, unknowingly, on my last night as a girlfriend. Won't go into too many details here, but the night before was lovely :)

First for everything

DSC_1500

Eeeek! A very surprising birthday gift. Before this, I had no idea what model / skins / sizes it came in. My first Chanel! After much internet education, meet my Classic Flap Bag in Jumbo, Lambskin. Took it out twice so far and I think the second time it came out with more scratches than my year old leather pants.

Any suggestions on maintenance?! This whole Chanel business requires a lot of work!

Thanks very much for the birthday wishes!

birthday

Celebrated my birthday very very early a few weeks ago in Toronto with my closest friends/family around me, though it definitely was just an excuse to see everyone in one place I loved it :)

I think what makes your birthday (today, weeee!) special is not the day you born but the other 364 days of the year that you get to show the people you love (and they to you) that you're truly there for them. Now that I am officially in my late 20's, I have lived the greater part of this decade in another country, away from the people I grew up with. I have been home numerous times over the past 4.5 years and never once did an entire entourage not pick me up from the airport, drop me off and wait until the slight glimpse of me was gone before descending into the parking lot.

For those times, and many more, I am thankful for this day and the rest of the 365 days of the year.

Happy birthday to all those born on 9/11 :)

Tartufo would like to introduce you to my new shoes. They're incredibly high but not so much because whenevers theres platform we don't count that height in the overall distance away from the floor...right? Jo and I debated over these and another pair of shoes for an hour at Theory in the Meatpacking District and eventually was sold by the associate giving us 25% off (score!).

Still have many more photos from TO and NYC to show you but in the meantime this is Saturday. We went to a dinner party organised by my friend Jenn at St.Johns. We ate an entire pig head to toe, yum. Followed by drinks in Farringdon. I missed yoga the next morning :(

Okay, off to do work...I'm about an hour and a half late in starting my day!

Fashion Week Poland- relacja
