Familiar?!

My sister sent me this photo of Penelope Cruz in London wearing the scarf I have been raving about here

She probably bought it at the exact same place as I did. The girl's got good taste ;)

new favourites

I bought these online at Saks (because they are much cheaper in the US than in the UK) and had them shipped to my gf's parents place where she brought them back to London for me. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep them because they are pretty skinny at the top making my large legs (I attribute my big legs to ballet...16 years of ballet will do that to you) look larger.

Should've never doubted my Alexander Wang...he knows how to make a good boot, great.

Wore them out last night to a 30th birthday and some drinks at the Electric. They felt good all the way home. So good that I think I'm going to wear them again now to brunch.

Have a good Sunday!

First for everything

DSC_1500

Eeeek! A very surprising birthday gift. Before this, I had no idea what model / skins / sizes it came in. My first Chanel! After much internet education, meet my Classic Flap Bag in Jumbo, Lambskin. Took it out twice so far and I think the second time it came out with more scratches than my year old leather pants.

Any suggestions on maintenance?! This whole Chanel business requires a lot of work!

Thanks very much for the birthday wishes!

fall in summer

Breaking out a fall item in the middle of summer in Paris. Fall is definitely my favourite fashion season and the f/w collections of 2011/12 have not let me down. Most notable are the chunky turtlenecks seen in Celine's et al runway collections. Paired with a pegged trouser and pointy kitten heels would make for a killer (and warm!) outfit.

My above sweater from See by Chloe will inevitably turn into my go-to chunky knit for time to come. Perfect combination of poncho/sweater/all around goodness.

It poured when we were in Paris a couple weekends ago. Stupid me forgot my jacket so while walking through Le Marais, we stopped in Kooples to gain some shelter and I found this ahhhhmazing blazer. I wore it immediately and couldn't take it off for dinner at night.

When I first went to Paris I used to love trying the most gastronomical meals but now I prefer eating the way the locals eat. We tried Le Verre Vole, a new concept in Parisian cuisine. Throw some tables and chairs into a wine shop and you've got this popular local joint. We loved it so much, we had two bottles of red that evening.

La Scala

While in Milan Mass surprised me with tickets to La Scala to watch a short modernised opera, Quartett. I can't say it was a favourite of mine but the opportunity to see the theatre and hear the acoustics was astounding.

Inside La Scala. Beautiful isn't it?

I love how everyone still dresses up to go to the opera. I chose something pretty flexible since we had casual dinner plans with friends afterwards. I was wearing Baron Y skirt, Maurie and Eve sequin top, Queens Wardrobe leather jacket, Prada bag and CL shoes.

photo favorites

Apologies for the 2.5 week hiatus. I really have no excuses; I've been just caught up in everyday life. I won't make promises I can't keep but I'll try my best to become more consistent. However, just because I don't post doesn't mean I don't religiously keep track of all you! I check my bloglovin' every single day. You guys are just far more interesting than I it seems!

A few shots of some new favorites that entered into my closet recently:

DSC_1789
Earrings from the lovely girls at my old workplace; they have magnificent taste. Worn with a Club Monaco bow tie shirt.
DSC_1794
Rupert Sanderson peep toe booties. I bought these at the sample sale where the queue literally wrapped around the building. I guess I have a lot of patience...or a ridiculous shoe obsession (but what girl doesn't)
DSC_2060
A gift from Mass. He's a little quirky when it comes to gifts. Sometimes he'll bring home something absolutely fabulous, like this necklace by Palizzi, or sometimes he comes home with an organic loofah sponge (which btw, is SO amazing on your skin - I HIGHLY recommend it).

If you follow me on twitter, you may have read about my blistering toes from walking 25 minutes to work everyday in heels. Well, I think I found the cure. These classic Ferragamos are perfect for me. They're not too high (around 70mm) and still tasteful enough to wear in or out of the office.

Happy Tuesday!

New purchases: LV Epi Saint Cloud (no longer in production but a fantastic substitute to the Celine box bag) and Prada wallet (just compact enough to even fit into your small evening purses)

Shameless self promotion.

Happy Sunday everyone!

LISA: GIAMBATTISTA VALLI dress, BCBG necklackes, CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN shoes

MASS: DUCHAMP bowtie, ALESSI by VELLO jacket

I know I've been lackadaisical with my blogging (I have a newfound appreciation and respect for those of you who blog and work and live all in one) but I'm sure it'll spring back into gear once I have a season to shoot in.

Anyway, this is a repeat of my new years post but I didn't feel it was done proper justice last time so I decided to re-wear and re-shoot it. This was at the Coworth Park restaurant a few weeks ago, great weekend indeed.

Don't you love Mass' jacket? He wore it with a pair of three quarter length pants (with pony hair trimming) and high top boots.

Hope you're having a good weekend. It's raining in London (yet again).

BROOKS BROTHERS plaid trousers, THEORY plaid blazer, AA shirt and sweatshirt, CESARE PACIOTTI brogues, J.LINDEBERG belt, GAP scarf, PRADA bag, VINTAGE ROLEX and JADE ring (gifted from moms), BCBG ring (gifted from bon bon)

I'm not sure how you feel about plaid on plaid but I had a dream it looked good so I'm sticking to it. Got these trousers for 50% off and have never looked back since (Mass has a similar pair from D&G which he says I copied but I'd never admit it).

Off for the weekend to my favorite hotel and area of England, Waterside Inn. Mass has a few surprises in for me so I'm quite excited! Off to pack now.

Happy Valentine's Day weekend everyone!
